Lindsay Bird Mpetyane (Born c.1935) was active/lived in Australia.  Lindsay Mpetyane is known for Aboriginal painting.

Lindsay Bird Mpetyane, one of the most influential artists from the Utopia region, is also a key figure in ceremonies. He was born around 1935 and is the "boss" of the first "oustation" (Mulga Bore) which forms the Utopia community. Lindsay is an important representative of the Aboriginal community of Utopia region. He is married to Mavis Petyarre and has three daughters, Rosie, Jessie and Karen. Lindsay was the only man to participate in the silk painting project in the 80s (Robert Homes has short collection) which revealed the talent of many women artists of Utopia.
